Arrow Installed my Pacesetter Lts today...thoughts within..

Well, today didn't let me forget just how much header installs suck on Lt1s...I did my BBKs about 3 years ago. All in all, it was timely but not to bad. I must say that the quality of the headers looked amazing, especially for the price. The coating looks very nice, and the design was great. With the front of the car on ramps I was able to slide both headers in from the bottom without to much trouble. I had to remove the steering shaft obviously, and also the starter. Plug access for the most part is pretty good. There are a few that are kinda tricky but with the use of the "shorty" spark plug socket and a 3/4in. open end wrench, they weren't a big deal at all. Overall Im pretty happy with them so far, but now tomorrow I get to try to install my X pipe and bullets. Oh fun.. Anyhow, anyone that is considering these headers, I would say go for it, you can't beat the price.

I hear the coating on these new Pacesetter LT's is great. Its called Armor Coat and is supposed to be very nice!

I definitely plan on ordering these soon, the price is great and the install is simple. I found a guy that will sell me coated ones with oxygen sensor extensions for $444 shipped to my door.

I also want to do a x-pipe with Dynomax bullets like Poorman recently did on his Jet Hots (SOUNDS AMAZING). I guess its harder to fit on the Pacesetters though, I dunno. Did you get the Summit Universal 2.5" kit?

Let me know how it works out. Thanks!

The coating "Armor Coat" is very nice! I was surprised how well it was done. I am doing the summit universal kit but Im doing 3in. X pipe vs. the 2.5. If I did it over I would probably go 2.5 though for the extra clearnance as the collector area looks like its going to have the pipe very close to the brake/fuel lines. Also, these headers sit wider then the Jet Hots do. I am going to have to go to an exhaust shop tomorrow and get two pipes that are basically the same as the two front ones on the Summit X pipe, except they'll have to be 4in. longer in order to be the correct width apart. I'll take pics when Im all done with everything.

OK great, I wanna see what it looks like before I start ordering mine. I heard that the pipes do come very close to the brake/fuel lines. I guess all it would take is a heat shield or two and everything will be all set hopefully.

I still cant wait to see your pictures though....

Does the X-pipe kit come with the pieces to bolt right up to the collectors on the headers or do you have to go out and buy those? What other parts are necessary for install? Any input appreciated

There is no way to bolting up to the collectors of the headers. Unless you have a flang welded onto them. Im using a band style clamp to join the collectors to the xpipe. The xpipe kit is basically the X, 4 tubes with a 40 degree bend in them, and 8 clamps...one for each end and one to connect each end of the X.

94 CAMRO,How were the slip collectors designed to be connected to their "Y" pipe.A clamp or do they need to be welded?

I guess you could weld if your not worried about ever removing the exhaust, I plan on clamping though with a butt joint band clamp. Anybody know if these have any leaking issues? Looks like they would but I've heard they work well.
