I installed my moroso CAI today, and it seemed to fit pretty good after some initial issues. When i went to close my hood though it wont shut unless i force it down kinda hard. Then when its shut the drivers side sticks up about 1/4 inch or so. I CANNOT get the moroso to go down any lower, i tried forever, but there is nowhere for it to go. What should i do? Anyone else have this problem?

The part that bolts to the body part in the well, you have it upside down. The long part goes into the well and the filter clamps to that.

It also helps if you mount the plate on the under side if the wheel well. Meaning instead of placing it on the hole from the top do it from the bottom. A little more PITA to install but gives you a little more clearance for the hood.

I had the same problem as you when installing my Moroso CAI. I installed it correctly, but it still made my hood sit high on the drivers side . I replaced my hood with a 3" cowl about a month later and it fixed the problem. My hood did not come with insulation. I suggest trimming the insulation around the CAI. If this does not help I reccomend n2oCamaro's fix. It should give you the clearance you need.

I agree with the above post. I have the Lingenfleter CAI that is identical to the Moroso kit and my hood did the same thing. I ended up trimming the insulation where it looked like it was hitting on the intake tube and haven't had a problem with it since.

If installed correctly, nothing has to be trimmed. I have one.

I've got the Moroso also, with no problems. It IS a tight fit, as I can see the rub marks on the intake where the hood has been resting, but I've had no problems with the hood closing or sticking up like you're explaining. Are you sure you have the intake pushed on as much as possible? Howbout that big rubber seal? Sure it's not bunched up or anything?
