Injector Spray Patterns - Pintle vs Disk

Stock our cars come with Pintle style injectors. Some of us have upgraded to larger injectors due to HP requirments or maybe just for "down the road" purposes. I myself have "upgraded" to SVO injectors (disc) and of course tuned the car to run with them... and lot of others out there are running svo's as well.
I'm concerned that the different spray pattern of the bosch's would affect milage or emissions testing, since our cars were designed with the narrower spray pattern in mind.

I'm just curious if anyone's noticed any of the following with the SVO's:
-Bad milage or excellent milage with SVO's.
-Trouble passing emissions or worse emission scores after changing to disc

I've noticed bad milage (hard to say though could be just driving habits.. but even on long trips its not what it used to be). Also my emissions tests have never been that great, and it's been that way since the injectors. The power is all there, the car runs great otherwise

FYI I'll be re running the emissions test with a cleaned intake manifold along with putting my stock injectors (which are now properly cleaned). I've consistantly been failing, hopefully the results improve.

You've got it sort of screwed up.

The stock LT1 injectors are not "pintle".... they are Rochester Products ball and seat design. They have a unique spray pattern, because of the spray holes.

SVO, FMS and others are basically a Bosch pintle style injector. They are either made by Bosch, or by Denso (Japan) under license to Bosch. They have a different spray pattern than the stock RP injectors.

Lucas makes disc style injectors... yet another design.

ahh ok.. Talk about confusing I don't trust my memory much any more these days.
Hows this:
Has anyone have any evidence of the pintle style injectors causing poor atomatizaion vs the ball and seat style injector because of the way our intakes were originally designed?

I've had had both styles and the only injectors I had issues with were the Accell's. They idle poorly in my opinion. WOT power however seemed to be the same.
