Dont know what your ttalking about. If you bought a replacement waterpump for your car the only thing you should need is gaskets.

HEH - If he bought a new waterpump he's probaby going to need a new OPTISPARK in a month or so LOL! Seriously though, I have no idea what you are talking about either....

(And my gaskets were free at autozone!)

I just pull my coupler off straight out. The coupler can sometime be stuck on the water pump housing bearing or wp drive shaft.

If you left the coupling off (which I hope you did not), your water pump is not even running.

It does not come with a pump and is quite expensive if you lose it.

ok, the waterpump i removed still has the cylindrical "coupling" on the back ...i cant see the lil grooved nub. So I need to remove that and put it on the NEW pump? Should it just slide off? Thanks

It just slides off. It couples the two splined shafts. Clean it up and put a little new grease inside the ends or on the shafts.
