The Infamous Intake Leak....Symptoms??

So I think I have it. I found a few small dots of oil on the garage floor today, also it has just recently started having a little issue coming down to a idle after coming to a stop, it idles at like 1300 nothing high but after sitting stopped for a few seconds it will drop to a grand where it should be and tonight I noticed a small ticking noise.
so I'm wondering are these the syptoms of a bad intake gasket ?

I did a cat back system just recently and I'm thinking maybe the freed up flow caused it to let go..the car only has 15K on it. and just in case your wondering I checked the exhaust for leaks today and there are none. Please let me know if this is signs of the intake.

Just Rub your hand along the back of the intake and see if you get any oil on your fingers... or go under your car and shine a flashlight back there... if you see a little glimmer suprise you got it... easy to fix... 4-6 hours... takes about 18 hours for the gasket junk to set... just finished mine. Car runs Better now... atleast oil wise.

I've got that too.... is it really hard to fix?

If you leave it be, does it cause any permanent damage?

It's easy, about the hardest part is is cleaning and being careful not to get debree in the lifter valley. I can have mine off in about 30min. Also be easy on the intake manifold bolts; they brake easier then one might think. Cameron

No, it's eally easy to get off....

Getting the Fuel rail off is the only annoying part... everything else is straight forward.

So I'm gonna tackle this night mare but like I said I have a ticking sound coming off the drivers side sounds like a lifter. I don't see no performance loss unless I'm just used to it by now. but if it is a lifter I'd like to get it while I got the thing apart or would you think it was being caused by the intake leaking? and thanks to everyone who replied !!!

hmmmm, maybe my exhaust manifold is leaking cause when I put a hammer on the valve cover and listen to the valve train it sounds quiet in there
