Independent LE Trick Flow numbers!!

I took the LE Trick Flow heads I just got back from LE down to Patriot Performance and had them flowed. Superflow bench, 4.030 bore, and exhaust was without a pipe. The before numbers were 249 intake, needless to say, I'm HIGHLY impressed. I'll post up all the before numbers tomorrow when I get into work.

Maybe he'll come in and tell what all he did to them. I sent them to him bare and told him they were going on a max effort 383. I also sent him a LT1 intake to modify to "max effort" status that will go with the heads. I deal with alot of LSx heads and NONE of them are right on the advertised numbers, this is the first set of heads I've had done that flowed more than what was advertised. Loyd said they did 294 at .600, they did that and more. I can't wait to finish the motor up and see what the car runs at the track.

I'll measure the intake and exhaust runners tomorrow and post up the volumes.

Re: Independent LE Trick Flow numbers!!

if you take them to enough flow benches you will find some benches reading 20 cfm higher or 20 cfm lower than my bench. This is one of the reasons you can't compare heads by flow #'s.

When the ports are shaped right, the heads will WORK regardless of what the flow bench says.

Port shape and measurements in key areas are FAR more important than a 28" flow test. A port will start showing its true colors when you raise the depression to 36", 48" 76", etc, and higher. A 28" flow test is basically useless when trying to decide if a port is "good" or not.

If the guys get a chance to raise the depression and listen to the port, they will be even more impressed.

These had 2.080/1.625 valves installed with a good valve job and a full port job.

With a customer supplying the "bare" TFS heads, it is about $1400 to get them in this shape with me doing the portwork, valve job, milling, cleaning and assembly with the valves, springs, retainers, locks, and locators

Re: Independent LE Trick Flow numbers!!

I am very impressed with my LE Trick Flows with 2.08, 1.625 valves.
Here is what they flowed from Loyd:
.2 144/111
.3 202/146
.4 248/179
.5 279/201
.6 294/216
.650 296/222

Thank you Loyd for doing a hell of Port job on my heads. You've helped me more ways than one on my combo! I really do appericate it. You have got my business from now on!

Re: Independent LE Trick Flow numbers!!

There is always controversy over flow numbers. Just remember guys/gals...with trickflow or AFR stuff from LE, you should expect a 30cfm gain over his stock casting heads. Doesnt matter what some people think are true flow numbers or not. Lloyd's stuff is making great power (400rwhp with heads/cam) so you can imagine how good the AFR and TFS stuff from him is.

Good work Lloyd.

Jonathan Bellas (3 sets of heads sent thru LE)...

Very promising number's coming out of those TFS heads.. Great low lift #'s as well.. Its going to be a fast year for both LT1's and LS1's...

Re: Independent LE Trick Flow numbers!!

Lloyd,

How much would the porting, valves, valve job etc. cost if I supplied the bare heads, springs, locks, retainers, seats, and studs?
