I'd like to hear comments too. I'm thinking it would make it more responsive but am not sure how much to add.

I think we're looking more for numbers to plug into the tranny tables.

When you said 'tuned' I knew. I guess it sorta answers your question though. Shift kits increase pressure. But, I'm not sure if shift kits increase pressure only on the shift or all the time. There's options to increase either in the pcm. I have increased the shift pressures; I think everyone's done that, but I'm wondering if you can increase the constant line pressure as well a bit for good results.

I was just talking to a tranny guy about this on Sat night. He said no problem. It is a good thing. Makes the clutch packs hold tighter which means tranny is less likely to slip. As for pump issues, he believed that these are good strong pumps that can handle the added stress, although their life expectancy might be shortened a little. Overall, thumbs up.

Constant high line pressure is bad. Linear changes by TPS % through programming are ok if you do not overdo it. MHO.

Isn't that doing the same thing as the momentary ground switch mod for the obd1 autos? I did this awhile back but rarley use it. No ill effects I know of.

I've got my max line pressure set to 120 psi. I much prefer the way it shifts with overall pressure boosted. i had it set to increase just for shifts, but the shifts did not happen nearly as quickly as they do with an overall boost.

Anyway, I've been running this way since the spring on a stone stock tranny and no problems so far. I don't expect the thing to last forever, and when it goes, I'll build it a little stronger so that it will hold up to those pressures without problems.

The max pressure is only hit like at high tps percentages right? I was hoping to tighten it up throughout the rpm range.

I may be wrong...?

Mine shifts very quickly and very firmly throughout the rpm range, but not so quick or firm that it sounds hurtfull. You can tell you are hurting your car when you hear loud metal on metal banging sounds. Nothing like this happens with overall pressure boost.

At one point I had shift pressures set so hard that it sounded like someone was under the car smahing it with a 12 lb sledge. Man it was viscious!

I firmed mine up with the hypertech, seems to run ok. The tranny guy at gm said its ok for the clutches but not to good for the rest of the tranny, cause these 4l60e's aren't that strong.
