Angry Attention auotomatic transvestite owners.

king again.(have been on patch for 1 week .no puffs!)
I'm going to seriously kill something!!!!! Sunday afternoon take the car out of winter hibernation drive it for 20 minutes after checking all fluid levels and what happens....something starts slipping again (2 friggin days before my head/cam appointment ) God Any ways tranny oil is pink as a ..well ... pink, doesn't smell burnt at all. What happens is at a stop or slow roll when i go to accel the tach revs anywhere from 200 - maybe 1000 rpm extra before it grabs! It isn't in safe mode yet anyways like all the other times last summer.(You may remember me posting) The last time the shop repaired it we changed my pcm and they assured me it would nevr happen again ... well something is happening. They said there is nothing else they can do if it happens again. I pulled this out of my file today though....warranty till april 25/03 or 157km's ( i have 151 km's) but i am still so pis%ed ,Ihave the trailer and everything ready for the trip!!!

I'm starting to wonder if it can have anything to do with their "custom" in house made converter. They said no way last year though when it happened before.(Total rebuilds ..i think 4 or 5 in 14,000 kilometeres!! Grr,... oh so frustrated!

Man, I had the same thing happen to me, when i had my v6, THey had to rebuild it four times, and they told me that it wasn't there fault, and it wasn't until we threatened legal action, that they magically REPLACED the valve body, instead of just cleaning, that was the bad part causing all the problems in the first place!!!!

ON top of all that the rebuild cost $1800 !!!!!!, we asked for a estimate, instead they took apart the tranny, and told us if we wanted the car back w/out the rebuild the tranny wouldn't work at all!

Transmission shops suck, i've never had a good experience at any one of them, from now on all my tranny probs. go to the dealership!!!

I feel your pain man!!

1800 ouch yah thats gotta hurt . Mine was 2100 but canadian though, Still expensive enough. Valvebody you say ...hmmm I hope that was the case the whole time . If it is i'm going to make them pay me the 250 for the 1 out of 5 times i had to pay for the labor for them to rip it out because they said , and i quote "The car has almost 300 hp ...I could kill this tranny in a day" " your car has to much power, these trannies are usually in trucks" ha , ha,ha

BTW the original time my tranny went (safe mode)I had to limp it 800km's!!!to a different tranny place for initial inspection and my friend found that the valve body was completely caked and stuff probably from driuving 800km in 3rd gear. So maybe your right , maybe the valkvebody was way to clogged to get perfectly clean again.Anybody else had this problem! Thanks.

Yeah, after they replaced it, the longest my car went w/out slipping was 250 MILES!!!!!!

When they FINALLY replaced the valvebody, he said that "it's a new thing to replace them nobody ever did that before, they just cleaned them out" This guy told me he built race transmissions, but he couldn't fugure out it was the calvebody to begin with! Some transmission expert

2100 canadian is with a new torque converter to servo and transgo etc.But you did get a good price. Never a problem either so far hey?

Yes I guess if i figure it out it lasts about 300km per rebuild or roughly 250+/- miles. I hope that is what it is. Any one else ever had a valvebody problem like this?

I think we figured it out. They took it apart for me and 3-4 clutch pack was burnt right to the metal. This time we used 6 or 7 plates (some thicker) instead of the normal nine i think. Any ways when we went for a real drive(wot) it seemed when manually shifting 2 - 3 it would bounce of rev limiter before shifting. When i left it in overdrive it pretty much was perfect. All the times i was killing the tranny was when i was manually shifting so i wont do it anymore. With the scanner hooked up it always shifted when the computer told it to. I also put in a large tranny cooler so we'll see now.(Rebuild no.5) He said "this time it should be fine forever this is the strongest I can build a 4l60e."
Oh well i think i"m selling it now anyways.
