I tried to do a search, but it was not what i was looking for.............well i did myself a favor and sold my 89 gta and just got a 97 z28 with tint and flows 96,000 miles auto,no t-tops super deal at 5,800 from a guy who just wanted out of the loan. But i ran up against my friends 00 ss, he beat me and now i want to know what mods do i need to beat him. He only started to pull on me in third gear i come out of the hole with him through second gear. MY CAR is stock minus the kandn intake,flowmasters,and 373 posi.

 

and if i'm not mistaken i believe that my car is rated at the factory with 310 horse and body know the specs on torque so with all my mods i had to pick up adlease 10 horsepower to the rear wheels. if the new ss is rated at 320 like most of the are shown. also what should my quarter mile be at.

 

Which car do you have? The one in the sig. or the 97 z28? If you wanna beat a ls1 look at my mods.............that'll pretty much KILL a factory ls1.

 

Your car wasn't rated at 310. I think 96's were 285HP/335lb.ft

An LS1 car will run low 13's stock, with a good driver. You're probably around 13.6-13.8 if you're car is in good running condition. So all you need is to drop a couple tenths. Headers, Y-pipe, convertor, a good tune, other little bolt-ons. It isn't hard to have a bolt-on only 12 second LT1 car. Try a search.

BTW: Congratulations on your purchase! I switched from 3rd to 4th gen a few months ago and am never looking back!

 

my car is a 97 z28 like i listed but my mods are the same as my old bird i bought a new skool and then sold it and went old skool then i just bought the new skool maro sorry about the confusion. so headers and what else will help me smoke this gay ss also looking for some advice on bfg street drag tires thanks in advance

 

a cutout, headers, gears, and some tires, and a stall would probably beat him

 

I got some Mac headers with a no cat y-pipe for sale. Put this on and you'll beat him. Bfg's are good tires. They just don't last.
