I also can not get past 20mpg and I drive 90% highway as well. My motor is almost bone stock too!

Re: I'm amazed at my gas mileage...

I too just got back from a 2 1/2 hour one way trip yesturday. We ( my girlfriend and I) drove there, drove around in the city for a while and came home on a tank of gas. My gas gauge is a little off but I got home yesturday and it still showed 1/2 tank. with close to 300 miles on it. The car is stock with mods in sig and last time I figured it out I get about 31 onthe highway and 10 in town, LOL.

And thats doing 85 in 6th the whole way.

Yeah my highway MPG is rediculous with an A4 even. Well when you can cruise at 70 below at just about 1500 RPM's and below, hey.

I just replaced the plugs, wires, and coil last summer. I think my problem maybe the thermostat. It takes forever to warm up. That and maybe o2 sensors need changed.

O2 sensors are often a culprit of bad gas mileage in these

Re: I'm amazed at my gas mileage...

If you get low MPG in the city, it's most likely that after the cam install, noone ever adjusted your cells to compensate, so you're not using enough of your cells in the tune for the changes associated when driving city, so the thing has to relearn each time when you give it more gas, this is very common.

I adjusted all mine and get about 15mpg city and around 30 highway. And my city driving is brutal, I mean dead traffic etc, and the cam is in the 24X/25X range on a 109 if that helps.

I'm still amazed actually... now my city mileage is a different story... Anyone else getting this good of mileage on a built motor? Hell i'm starting to think somethings wrong with my car...
what gears?
