Question Iinstalling Air Lid ????

I am interested in purchasing an slp air lid and have seen how they are installed on various camaros which in all cases is directlly in front of the TB....
My problem is I have an ss hood and a noodle type deal hose that holds my filter (exposed) up to the top of my hood and noodlees its way down to the TB...do i have to get rid of this Noodle tube in order for this to be possible. or will the slp air lid somehow "fit" around or over my existing air filter...
what do i have to do to have this installed on my car ???? i hope someone can make sense of what im saying here.....

With a SS hood you won't fit a LS1 style lid of any kind on there w/out hacking the front beam where the radiator sits. You'll need a different hood ie, Ultra Z or Suncoasts.

I run a MTI lid on mine and required very little modifactions for it to fit w/ the Ultra Z hood. You can find pics on community webshots under "SRZ".

That lid you are talking about is for the later model LS1 cars.

You have the wrong idea here. LT1 cars do not have "Lids". On your SS, you can use the SS stuff, or pick up a CAI from SLP,GMPP,Lingenfelter,K&N,Moroso........

I thought about doing it for 2 reasons.
1.I think the lid set up looks good and easy access to clean filter.

2. I live in south florida (rain= deep water) so I dont plan on driving through 2 foot of water but It does happen and its allways a surprise.

Will a lid set up clear a stock hood on a 97 Z28 ?

Re: Iinstalling Air Lid ????

i doubt it would clear a stock z28 hood without modifications.. i have a slp lid on my lt1 ws6 hood would close without modifying anything but i took a tiny bit off the bottom of the box and thats all the modifying i had to do to get it to fit. i decided to do it because everything was free..
