Ignition testing with Delteq?
Ignition testing with Delteq?
Does anyone know tests to check the ignition with opti installed? I read on Shoebox's website about testing the ICM. I pulled the connector coming from the opti and tested it. A and D read 5 and .03 V. Shoebox's site says 10 V on both. Does the Delteq change that?
Re: Ignition testing with Delteq?
The Delteq is not supposed to change any signals from the Opti-Spark, they are needed for the ECM/PCM to compute the EST (Electronic Spark Timing) and the fuel injection sequence and timing.
The Delteq uses the Opti-Spark signals to create/simulate crankshaft reference signals that the Northstar ignition module expects to see.
If you are trying to analyze the low-res and high-res signals from the Opti-Spark, I think you will need an oscilloscope to see the waveforms.
