Exclamation If you have a LT-1 on a engine stand please read...

Im looking for a very weird measurement. I need to know how far the crank is supposed to stick out frm the seal housing. I think my eagle crank is about .050 to long and it is causing problems, please measure on the bottom, because I will be trying to do this with the motor in the car... Thank you!
I suppose the exact distance from any other neaby machined suface on the block will do too.

hi dave.i have an eagle crank in my car.i finished the engine about a month ago....funny thing was ,i fealt the crank snout on the eagle was somewhat long,i didnt mike it...but it looked okie.i still have the stock crank on the shelf though and could give you an acurate measurment if you need it,say..side of journal to the snout,gl ,chow.

well the poblem was there was almst no clearance between the flexplate and the TC. The motor runs great but it put pressure on the thrust bearing and is wearing it out. I pulled the oil pan to pim my oil pump and thats what I found. (6k miles since 383 build)

I need the actual difference from the back of the block on installed stock crank...

sorry dave,i thought you were coming off the front of the crank*doh*...thats a tough one,gotta find a dude with one in the stand,good luck...
