(off the shelf cam)

What would it be?

My friend is buying me a cam for xmas, and I can't decide what I want. The car will have stock heads at least for a few months...I'm thinking Comp Cams XE 224/230 .503/.510.

 

Just get a custom cam.

Bret, I know a custom cam is the best way to go...but what would your choice be for an off the shelf cam for my application?

 

With that 3200 stall, a tune, and everything else you have, I would get a CC306 or GM847. But that is just me.

 

All depends on what you want to do........ either way the only real expensive parts of a custom is running the right valvetrain parts with it, which you should do anyways.

The 847 is not a bad way to go, nor is the Hot Cam all depends on your application. I'm not a big fan of the CC306 since it doesn't take me much to smoke that cam.
