If you had $10K and an empty engine bay... How would you fill it??

I really need some input on this. I am going to be selling the current 383 when I get some time this week to pull it, so I was wondering, what should fill that big hole in the engine bay once it's gone? I know you guys are probably going to say stick with the 383, but I think it's time for a change. The 383 is awesome and I love the stump pulling torque it generates, but I think I would like to go a different direction. My options at this point are a high compression NA 355ci, a low compression 355ci and a procharger, or a 355ci and a hidden nitrous system. Thats pretty much what I've narrowed it down to, but I'm wide open for other options. What would you do, and what would be the specifics of your choice??! Thanks.

Nice Screen Name.

I'd go with a built 355cid and either single or twin turbo it.

Just my .02

Goodluck and research ALL your options.

Keep the 383, freshen it up and put some lower CR pistons in there while you're at it (maybe less than $2k depending on who does the work), ported AFR 210s (3-4 grand), then go the FI route. SC will be cheaper, turbo will take you farther, but either will make that 383 mean as hell.

Or freshen it up, go with a gen1 head conversion (maybe 5 grand with used 15 or 18 degree heads including the necessary EFI work/parts on the carb intake), big cam, and a DP nitrous system.

Just some of my thoughts

Then might as well go LS2 (or even LS7 when they come out in crate form-not sure what they will cost, though).

How about SQuinns 370 cube LT1? he still have that for sale?

Or a 12:1 355 with a bad set of heads and a single plane on it. That would do it.

Or go old school and buy my 365cube 600hp SBC with a bowtie block off of me for a little more. It's a street motor and runs like hell.
