if someone says i need a new clutch, does that mean a new pressure plate, a clutch disc, and throw out bearings, or just the clutch disk?? also who makes a quality clutch package including all these things and a lightened flywheel? thanks.

 

Tons of people make kits,

For a near stock car i would suggest the SLP kit. Comes with disk, PP, throwout bearing. They also sell the lightened flywhee, but i have read a bunch of negative stuff about the lightened ones.

 

The clutch disc, pressure plate and to bearing all make up the "clutch". Most people replace all three when they replace their clutch. If the pp is in really good shape you could get away with just using a new disc and to bearing but most would recomend replacing all three while you're in there. SLP sells a complete clutch package with disc, pp & to bearing for around $360. They also sell a light weight steel flywheel for about the same price

 

The SLP is what I'm going to be doing when I decide to swap. SLP doesn't (well at least I didnt see) a package with the disk, pp and throughout. They DO have a package for the PP and throughout bearing and the disk is seperate.
