I ordered my 6AL but its not here yet. But, my friend was telling me that the manual says to increase the gap on your plugs. You should be using steel plugs like ac delco if you are using an aftermarket ignition. Look in the manual, it should state how much to increase your gap.

Nothing bad will happen if you don't re-gap your plugs, but just know that they are no longer at their optimum gap. You could stand to gain some power if you increased the gap, but not very much if you are using steel plugs. If you are using platinum or some other plugs, you could gain more if you increased the gap, but you would have to really gap the hell out of them. That's why I said in my earlier post that the steel plugs are the way to go. Here's a good article on spark plugs if you want to read it, there's info about gapping and aftermarket ignitions at the bottom with some numbers to back it up.

When I did my plug, I put in my MSD 6A then.........I was wondering about using platinum plugs with the box.
So I phoned MSD.
They didn't recommend it. They claimed the plugs wouldn't last as long as they should......

Exactly! I think everyone should ditch their plats, because they're a POS! I had changed them after 8000m, 5 of 8 were missing the platinum tip. To gain power (minimal), you should go with COPPER plugs, not plats.
I can't stress this enough, plats are a POS!

No, it's an ignition amplifier. Read it here:
