My LT1 has a computer tune and it idols grrreat at 1000rpm...thats were it was set at when i bought the car. I am told if i lower my idol to 500rpm that you will be able to hear my cam alot better(306)...is that true and how hard is it to chang my idol and could it hurt performance in anyway??

500RPM is pretty low with a custom cam. It would prolly cut off at those rpms. you could try 600+ and yes, you would be able to hear the cam better. It would be a slower rythm idle and would sound more radical. You will have to send the PCM to a tuner or take the car to him and let him adjust your idle to your liking. It shouldnt affect performance going to a lower idle.
