idler pulley options,..

.eliminating AC on accesory bracket on my 1995 LT1 350 engine 5.7 liter and was advised to replace it with the appropriate idler pulley.Thnking about going to one of the local midwestern "bone-yards" and salvageing one there. Want to know if anyone knows if any of these idler pulleys are found on any additional vehicles or models

If you plan to delete the AC out the car. You can use 1LE pulley. I think they cost $40 brand new. It's a bracket that will bolt right into the same location were the AC unit went. You won't need another belt cause the factory one will fit into it. As for the idler pulley that piece doesn't get replace, or moved.

,..err what does this 1LE bracket look like. I'm planning on going to the local salvage yard .I am just assumeing that this bracket is not unique to the LT1 accessory bracket and can be found at something LESS than what I would be paying at one of our local "stealerships".

It's just a bracket with a pulley on it. I would imagine it is unique to the LT1, plus it was only used on non-a/c cars like the 1LE that are fairly rare. Finding one in a junkyard may not be so easy.
