Re: idle stalling

Idle Air Control may be dirty or non-functional.

Re: idle stalling

IAC fully open (trying to provide more air) will read 0 counts. This does not tell you that the IAC actually moved or if the passages are clogged up.

Actually if the IAC is closed it will read 0... if it is wide open it will read 160.

160 is bad because the motor wants more air but the IAC cant open any further so it will stall like you are describing. Lubing the IAC could help but ultimately you will just have to crack the TB blades a little... get it to where the IAC will read in the mid 50's.

Re: idle stalling

Thanks for correcting my error!

Your other option to cracking open the blades is to slightly enlarge the bypass hole that supliments the IAC.

Re: idle stalling

dont limit yourself on the IAC, monitor your knock retard. If you have knock retard lets say 5-12 degrees, it will do it as well..
