Smile idle races....

Hey all, thanks for the really quick responses on my plugs question. :-)

Here's another one for ya... anyone out there had this condition?

When it's really warm out, and engine warms up, I'll occasionally get a condition where the engine idle sticks about 2,000 - 4,000 rpm. It only happens after holding the throttle steady for a few minutes. If I just tap the pedal ever so slightly, it will kick back down, but slowly.

The throttle plates ARE NOT sticking. Checked them, cleaned them... checked them again, cleaned them again! LOL. I even pulled off road, engine still racing away, popped hood and pulled on throttle linkage. Linkage didnt budge a bit, but the throttle DID still drop.

It is an intermittent condition. When it's happening, it wont go away. But then it could be weeks or months before it happens again. Dealership is useless... the proverbial "we cant diagnose it if it aint happening". Of course, no codes!! I'm thinking possibly the TPS, but I'm reluctant to spend $$ on an guess.

Hopefully, one of y'all run across it before and can shine some light!

I have the same thing, but I think it is the IAC,
Try removing it and cleaning off the carbon from it.
DO NOT move the spindle though.
Good luck.
