Re: idle question for gm847

900 to 1000 rpm works good, depends on the rest of your setup too of course, but that's a good starting point.

Re: idle question for gm847

what do you mean depends on the rest of the setup? Can it be set to 800? and still run alright?

Re: idle question for gm847

I think running a cam at a low rpm like that isnt such a good idea. Running a car bad on purpose... Just doesnt sound like a good idea.

go to the link in my signature and click on videos on the site. There should be an idle vid.

Re: idle question for gm847

I dont see where it hurts anything the old small block chevys were all around 750-850 and thats what theyr supposed to be set at. I dont have any problems with it I wish I had a video of it but it sounds great the 112 lobe separation kinda makes it a fast lope but its still awesome. the only problem I have with mine and I only have a base tune so the problem might go away after tuning, is if I go to start it and let off the key to soon before it starts sometimes itll flood a little and I'll just hold the pedal to the floor to shut off the fuel and itll start right up. But I also have 42 lb injectors which are a little big for what Ive got done.

Re: idle question for gm847

mine would idle even at 500, but it sounded crappy. I think 900 was a good setting and 800 gave it a lot of lope, sounds more badass to me, and it was no where near stalling. I wouldnt go any lower than 800.
