idle and hesitation

For awhile my car has been running a little rough at idle. The rpms arent jumping around but you can feel it when you are at a stand still. Almost like what a larger cam would feel like almost. Every once in awhile too there will be a hesitation when i give it gas from a stop. I know this could very well be the opti going bad( i have 88k miles on her) but before i change that out, what are any other posibilities what it could be? Anything. I have change the plugs and wired and coil a year ago, so i dont think that any of those would be it.

Well I changed my plugs about a year ago, and I just replaced them again this week and It runs alot better, even with the gasket leak on the passenger side header.

Before when I would be driving right before it shifted it would hang for like 2 to 4 seconds, now it doesnt do that at all.

Check the EGR for sticking or the pintle not fully seating. You can remove and block the vac line to see if it clears up. When the engine is cool, try moving the diaphragm by hand and see if it feels rough. You can also clean it after it is removed.

The best thing to look at is the IAC motor. My truck had a rough idle and I removed and cleaned and reseated it and the thing idles like glass. It had a ridge of carbon build up around the pintle and would not seat properly. I seriously doubt you have an idle issue from the opti.

Check the TB and TB cable. Very overlooked and could cause the symptoms you are saying. The hesitation will suck majorly if the cable is streched far enough. Just ask me... I'm in the process of getting mine replaced now. It's so bad, I don't even know how the TB is opening. Sometimes when I crank the car, it won't even jump past 1k.
