Idle dropping when approaching a stop?

Everytime I come up to a stop, and I hold the clutch in and step on the brakes, the idle drops down to 500 RPMs or lower and wants to die. With the air on its worse and it does die sometimes. The car never used to do this, it just started doing this. I took the car apart a few weeks ago to change valvesprings, and ever since I got it back together its been doing this. There are no codes present and everything seems to be okay otherwise. Any one else experience anything like this, or know of a solution to it? It seems like it could be the TPS, but with no code, I don't want to just change it. Thanks in advance for any help.

reset the computer by disconecting the battery for about 30 mins. See if this helps. If that doesnt work, use the procedure to reset the IAC motor...use the search function on the board for this easy procedure. Mine has done something similar to that back in the day, and the computer reset took care of it

If that doesn't work, just adjust the idle screw on the driver side of your TB until it goes away.

Also (along with the other comments) make sure that your IAC spring isn't all gummed up....spray it out with some cleaner if it is.......also, if your running a throttle body air foil, which is kinda in the way of your existing IAC bypass hole, it "many times" helps to inlarge the hole a little, like a couple drill bit sizes over what it was from the factory......Joe

Check for vacuum leaks.

Make sure the MAP sensor did not come loose.

Re: Idle dropping when approaching a stop?

I noticed that the IAC count was up kind of high (75), so I turned the srcew out until it was at about 40 at idle, and brought the TPS volts back down to .69 and unplugged the battery for 10 seconds then did the IAC reset and it seems to be okay now. Thank you everyone for your help.
