what would cause this???
has a off idle studder too, stumble and around 35 in 4th gear it is studdering, and as the pedel is applied it studders and then clears, has a new tps and iac is fine, Clean!!!

check your EGR first. I'll put money on it being the problem.

I have...
A 383 with the hotcam and 30 pound accel injectors, no egr, no air pump, pcmforless tuning, and it is a automatic trans, new tps, new map, cleaned MAF, gutted cat

You can try setting the IAC counts to something more reasonable in drive rather than park. Just make sure that you're reading something in park...even single digits should be OK.
I've got my GN at 5 counts in park and about 30 in drive and it cured most of the tip-in-stumble and transition from park to drive is much smoother.
It's worth a shot.

On my car the steps are 3 in park and 7 in drive, cleaned the IAC, checked for vacumm leaks, I dont know what the deal is. Seems like yours is adding lot of air for some reason, maybe because of the cam?

30-40 (a/c off) is about right.
If they are high, the IAC is compensating for not getting enough air. Solutuion - crack the throttle blades by screwing in the throttle stop screw. This is assuming everything else is healthy.

I recently had a prob that was very hard to find..
When It ran, it was an intermittent problem, varying from rather OK [no missing etc] to very bad!, as in missing chugging hunting and almost stalling[never did leave me stuck tho!]
Seemed like bad fuel
I drained tank and freshened fuel, changed filter.
Checked fuel pressure[static and while driving]Checked out OK
Checked TPS, coil,ICM
Cleaned all grounds.
Checked all vacuum devices[including brake booster]
Wires good
Plugs good
Unplugging MAF to go to computer tables didn't help at all when it was failing.
Did a few other things I can't recall, but everything I could think of.
With the Auto Xray I could see the IAC counts all over the place when the problem showed[I believe it was trying to increase the idle to 'stay running etc]
NO DTC's set at any time..
I had done opti last fall so didn't want to dig into that until all other possibilities were exhausted.
Having tried everything else I removedWP and opti.
Opti 'rattled' when shaken[not good]
Opened it for inspection, fount the 3 screws that hold the optical sensor mounting plate had SHEARED OFF.
besides a poor ground, it was all over the place and rubbig etc.
Surprising it ran at all.
NOt pointing the finger at your opti here, but in my case it was that, and didn't really exhibit the usual symptoms or DTC's.
And I am really posting here due to the IAC all over the place doesn't necessarily mean it is bad or not working.
PCM apparently is smarter than we think. It was trying to keep the car running.
Opti fixed, everything OK now[including IAC counts, etc]
