Idle around 1800rpms!

I just got my car back together. I had the heads gone through and a spark plug hole fixed. But now that I have it back together the idle is around 1500-2000rpms I've checked all the vacuum lines that I could think of. And nothing has changed.

Could I be on the wrong train of thought??? Maybe it isn't even vacuum related... Is there a way to adjust the thottle? I don't think there is but I'll ask anyways. Any input will help.

Thanks in advance,

Chad

A broken TPS can do this, Its been so long but I think there is an idle adjustment screw on the stock TB.

If the spark plug hole wasn't fixed properly, you could be getting a vaccum leak there.

Thanks for the advice. But I dont think there is any bad sensors since before i tore the motor apart it was idling at like 800rpms. As for the plug hole, I blelieve everything is good there. They all tighten up and none feel even the slightest bit loose. Would there be a problem with changing the set screw? I've heard dont mess with it??

Thanks
Chad

there is an idle screw on the throttle body. the bracket that holds the cruise and throttle control are in the way of it. you can adjust it that way. the idle is also control by the computer which needs to be programed to adjust

I just came in from working on my car. I set the idle screw back and that made no difference since the butterfly's on the Tb are completely closed the "tab" wont go back to the set screw. My car has a 1993 LT1 in it. So I cant reprogram the computer without buying a new chip...right? When I got the car it had a custom chip in it for the mods it had. I'm stumped...can you help!?!?
