Idiot light?!? help

on my 96 LT1, The lowcoolent light just started coming on, I drove home fine yesterday watching my temp gauge for any movement, there was none. I got home let my car cool down all night and this morning i popped my rad cap off to top off the DEX, and my rad was full... I also checked my resivoir and it was a tad bit low so i topped that off as well. Just got back from a 5 min drive, and the low coolent light is on again. whats going on here everything is full and nothing is clogged up.thanks fellas

This question is posted quite often. The sensor can often report a low condition when none exists. Replace the sensor or unplug it (if you no longer want to monitor the coolant level).

Man does that. The sensor goes out quite often in our cars. Just don't pay attiention to it, or remove it like I am going to.

Thanks! but I think Im going to remove it like you said... I keep an eye on all my fluids everytime i start my car, so removing it wont be a problem. Now the sensor Im going to remove... is it on the overflow tank? (towards the bottom?)

Re: Idiot light?!? help

How are you going to seal the radiator port back up if you remove the sensor? Just unplug the electrical connector-nothing really more to do than that.
