I have a 1994 camaro z28..

This things been a P.I.T.A. ever since I bought it..

Now here's another problem its having. Ill come out start it and it will run fine. Then without any warnings it will act weird then die out.. and won't start back..

I've replaced the icm pigtail.. that made it fire right up.. then it started to do it again.. so I traced it to the ground wires on the icm coil bolt that goes into the front of the head by the intake. I re grounded those.. ran 100% fine.. now its doing it again!

Its really starting to agravate me... someone please give me a hand with this? I'm getting 12 volts to the pink wire going into the coil. But the white and black wire I get nothing and the pink and black I get nothing. Even while cranking.. could it be the icm? I have another coil and it seems to be good.. just figures huh?

 

The pink/black, white/black have to plugged in at the coil to be able to see any voltage from them at the ICM connector.

 

Oh ok.. ill check that out tomorrow.. thing still won't start tho..

I'm hoping its not my opti. Its only got about id say 50 miles tops on it..

Id be really ticked if it were my opti..

 

Well as it turns out it wasn't my opti (thank god!)

It was my ICM, I ordered one off ebay said it came out of a 95. But would work for 94 too...
Well it started my car no problem. But after about 6 starts. It would drag really bad. Then start..

So it got progressivly worse until it was gragging so bad that the motor wouldn't turn over at all..

So I left it sit for 30 min. Came back out and it spun over fast but wouldn't start..
I blew up another ICM, checked the P/N on the icm I ordered and it was a 96.

So I just went and bought a new one for 80$ put it in and it fired riight up...

No problems since.. exept for my. Heavy foot....

But I figured why keep wasting money on used parts when I can buy a new one and have a warrenty to get another part for free if the current one screws up again?
