That's the 1st time I've seen a green SS. I thought that color came out on the '97 cars? That car is listed as a '96.

Check out how it's called a "Z28 SS". Sounds cheesy but that is one pretty car. That color looks good in the sun.

If you remember when they first came out with the SS... or even slightly before when there was just a couple press cars floating around it was called the "Z28 SS" In fact, in haste a few companies made things like floor mats with the "Z28 SS" logo... I think there was some SLP/GM literature with the Z28 SS name also.

... since the SS serial number is included in the listing, it should be pretty easy to find out if it's for "real" or not..

That is one clean car. Rare too. I think less than 100 polo green SS cars were built that year.

http://www.camaro-ss.com/faq.html#96build

167 were made

and yes ALL 96 SS's were Z28/SS

for the cost, its LOW milage, and a limited production numbered car, I think the only year of 4th gen SS's that will hold the value.

Also, hes willing to sell for 15000

want to know if its real, phone SLP with the VIN

Is a nice car, but missing the SLP suspension if I recall.

i pretty much concider all SS's to be z28 SS's even though i dont really say z28 ss...technically ss is an option on the z28 so it makes sense and my floor mats say z28 ss so it must be true

xride...why were only 96's z28 ss's and why do you think only 96 SS's will hold their value

Well, the 96 is a Z28/SS becuase it starts as a Z28 and gets turned into a SS by SLP, I'll say that 97 works the same way I believe, but I've seen 97's with both Z28/SS and just SS, so I dont know for sure as I havent looked into the 97 SS's, so I'm going to try not to comment on what I'm not sure of.

I do know that 98 up SS's are done in the GM facotry, no longer sent to SLP. so its now Z28 or SS... being two different packages instead of one being added to the other.

I say IMO the 96's will be the only ones, and maybe the 97s to a point, because they are biuld by SLP not done at GM. the 96s are also individually numbered with a plaque on the ashtray cover, and well even from 96 to 97 the biuld numbers is big 2400 in 96 and 3000 in 97 but for 98 its like 10000 (I think)

again, mostly my opinion, and I have lost lost of facts from when I was first looking, but if you asked me a year ago when I bought my first one I could have told you how many cars had x option, etc.
