IAT Sensor and High Rpm Miss
IAT Sensor and High Rpm Miss
Ok i read a post today about how IAT sensor fixed someone's high end miss. So i figured i would try it out. so i unplug the iat sensor. i run it through first and second gear about 3 or 4 times and it runs great. So i pull up to Mc Donalds and my friend was there. i tell him about it and he's like let me take a ride in it now, get in start it back up we go out well sure enough it's missing so i'm like great, my service engine soon light comes on which i figure was from the IAT being unplugged. Could it be possible when i first unplugged the iat my pcm didnt' notice and that's why it ran good and after a while the pcm found out and did something (i don't know what it would do) and then my car started missing and hesitating and all that stuff again?

I don't think the opti has ever been changed. I have 56,000 miles on my car i figured it would last a little longer than that. I tried to scan my car the other day but they guy said it couldnt connect it just kept retrying connection
Re: IAT Sensor and High Rpm Miss
Same issue,
When the SES light came on in my car after removing the IAT, it cage code #23. Manifold air temp too low.
I replaced my sensor but was still seein gthe same funky readingon my scan tool.
It was showing 168F when the outside temp was 40, even when the car was cold, When the sensor is dissconected, it should show -40F, mine is showing 360F.....But Yeah, when the sensor is our, the car was running great. I put a new one and it's still running great.....still can;t figure out the funky PCM reading

I put a resistor in my plug to trick the pcm into thinking the plug is still plugged up. It been raining so i havent been able to test it but i think it may be dry enough tonight to find out. I'll tell you what i find out.
Re: IAT Sensor and High Rpm Miss
In my case it came again after few days, it was also miss firing in low RPM (below 2000)
I went ahead and bought a fuel pressure gauge and tested pressue. Guess what, it was 20PSI under load.
Changed filter, checked regulator and eventually chnaged the fuel pump (accel) car is back to perfect.
