For those that have had to put the new on; can you give me some idea of the problems leading to replacement? My 97Z M-6 is having idleing problems.It wants to idle high if I baby it. I wonder because it has 90K+miles. So it it time to replace that thing?

 

Take the TB off and clean it real good with some carb cleaner. Also take the IAC out and make sure it and all of its passages are clean.

If that doesnt help, check for vacume leaks, they will usually cause a high idle.
