I Pulled Motor and Completely Re-Welded Crossmember I'm not convinced of any advantages of a tubular I know there will be a LOT of arguments about weight but it's stregnth I'm worried about I think that GM made it that heavy for a reason and I think I'd rather have the original

this is obviously a manufacturing defect and its too bad someone didn't blow the wistle on sooner and maybe G.M. would be fliping the bill for this mistake as well as a mental anguish suit for all the times we've been pulled over for suspected drunk driveing

Yeah It would have been nice to find it sooner but hey It gave me a reason to pull the motor!!!!

and the fall into the abyss of well now that I've gone this far, mid as well, , , , , , (See Mods)

I think GM knew about it too cause the problem mysteriously has disappeared in the new models!! I think gm figured if we didn't find out, the certainly were not gonna say anything

Well I took a look at my car and don't see anything broken. I do have that problem of pulling one way then the other though. I did notice while I was under the car that the steering rack boot was beaten up a lot with some holes and some goo leaking from some....
