I take it pushrods aren't supposed to spin freely
I was struggling changing my plugs and wires tonight and thought while I was there I would replace my valve cover gaskets. I was wiping off one of the rockers when I noticed it wiggled. I take it that it's not supposed to do that.
I'm guessing that I need to re-adjust the valve lash, correct. I pulled up shoebox's site and the easiest method for me would be #1. I don't understand what "pre-load" is. Is it the 1/4 turn after you have taken the slack out of the pushrod?
Going to bed. I'll get back at it tommorrow night.
I appreciate any comments.

Re: I take it pushrods aren't supposed to spin freely
It's normal for the rockers to move from side to side a little. As long as there is no vertical play in the rocker/pushrod, and you don't hear any abnormal ticking from the motor, I wouldn't worry about it.

That's what thier supposed to do. Either the valve was closed, or open half way. It's not a problem unless you can lift the entire rocker and move it freely.
