I need some help please.

Whats is going on is that when I tore my motor down, I noticed a few things here that kind of raised a few questions.
1st: The main bearings on the back read .001 is this a std bearing? Do i need an oversized bearings?
2nd: Can I use a 3/4" dia. tube oil pump set up, when this block came with a 5/8" set up?
3rd: Will the oil pump shaft MEL-IS-55E work in this motor?
4th: What is the oil pump drive assembly part number. The gear has a wear pattern to it, or can i switch the gear and which one should I use? The cam I have is a comp cams 07-466-8
This is a 94 LT1 motor going into a 97 car.
Any kind of help here would be great.

1 - have the crank mic'd to see what bearings you need. Don't guess.

2 - yes, you can use the later model 3/4" pump and pickup

3 - yes

4 - GM PART # 1103868

If there is an X after that part number it is an over, but typically if it has .001 on it the bearing is an under.

As stated above, mic the crank journals and measure the bearing ID's see what you need. Post up if you have any further questions.

Did ya check the fit? a .001 may be needed as I like .003 in the rear main for thrust bearing oiling.

Re: I need some help please.

Not yet, I pulled the motor apart and noticed that the bearings were stamped .001 no x. It stumped me so that is why I am asking.
I am getting the internals mic'd to see where its at and probably get it cut and polished to accept .010 bearings for mains and rods. I am also thinking of balancing the internals so it will run smoother at higher rpm's. Is the balancing part worth to have done with sock rods and pistons?
Thanks for the help guys

Re: I need some help please.

Balancing is always a good idea, IMO.
