Question I need some help

Alright,Thanks for just looking at my post to possibly try and help me out.Something is draining my battery to the point where it can't hold a charge for no more than 20 minutes.I had auto zone test it and recharge it,and they said it was okay.I think I wrecked my alternator from jump starting it.How can I find the source of my problem. Can I do it with the battery disconnected.I'm going to try and fix this thing right now.Any help would be great. Mike

Is it draining while running, stopped or no matter what?
If it's draining while parked, then you can just disconnect the alternator wire to check if that's the problem. Just make sure you don't touch the connector to the frame or some other metal after removed, or it will short/spark.

Also, with the alternator disconnected from the battery, read the + post on the Alt. to ground and see what the resistance is. It should be very high if not infinity.

It drains while it's stopped, something is draining the battery and I think the alternator went out because I jumped it about 10 times. Is there anyway I can find the the source of the drain with the battery disconnected.
