I need plugs for A.I.R. fittings in headers
Im in BFE Indiana now, The nearest one I know of is 30 mins away and its not that good. but I guess Ill give them a call in the morning.... anyone know a place i can order them if they dont have them?
I live in BFE Indiana.
Find the nearest Jiffy Lube or equivalent and ask for an M22X1.5 plug. It just so happens to be the same size as a Toyota truck differential plug. Even BFE, Indiana has a Jiffy Lube.

The 94-95 use a 7/8 x 18 or 22 mm will work. The 96-97 use 3/4 x 16 or 18 mm.
If you can't find them locally, here's a site with all kinds of drain plugs. Get copper washers too, or use some high temp sealant under the head.

here's what I did...slightly "ghetto" but works fine.
Take a hacksaw to your original AIR system piping and cut the flare off of the end of each pipe so you can slip the nut off of it. This nut obviously is the right size for the AIR bung, only problem is it isn't much of a plug, on accounta the big hole in the middle
. Put a lil sealant on a penny (sealant might not be necessary but why take chances), drop it into the AIR bung (should sit right in there, at least it did with my headers) then screw the original nut down on top of it to hold it in place. Actually I had to stack up 9 pennies, cuz my headers didn't have the right thread, and I could only get the plug in a turn or 2...but if I coulda screwed it in all the way I guess only one penny woulda been necessary.

only problem whith those ideas is that I may need to make it emissions leagal again.
The 7/8 18 was too big for my 94, In fact, at the smallest point the 7/8 plug was .840 the hole is .800
Mabye i should try the 3/4... with the taper it should be a better fit.

7/8" X 18 tpi is correct. For those that say it is smaller, I say I prefer not to plug an adapter that is screwed into the manifold. It is NOT metric. Yes, it will screw in, however, the tpi is incorrect. Cuz the OD of the metric plug is sloppy enuf, it will screw in till it wedges. It has worked, but is not correct. Done correctly, the plug will bottom out against shoulder in hole to seal, not wedge in the thread. The hole is an inverted flair thread, not meant to be plugged. Someone once stated they knew of a source. Don't remember. However personally speaking, AFAIK, the plugs that are available, are custom made. I know a source from another forum if necessary, and no, they are not as inexpensive as metric drain plugs.

I suspect that different headers require differing sizes of plugs. I measured both the stock AIR hole and the one on my headers. They were different. The headers' AIR tubes were indeed metric and the plug that fit perfectly was an M22X1.5. If you need something that is the same size as the stock fittings, it will probably be one of the SAE sizes mentioned. I haven't seen any listing of what sizes the stock AIR fittings are on what years, (assuming a change due to OBDII), nor have I seen a listing of the size plugs required for different headers.
I have RKSport/ASM Headers and the AIR tubes take an M22X1.5 plug. Anyone want to volunteer their AIR tube plug size and what headers they fit?
