I Need a HOW-TO on REINSTALLING my balancer

anyone got some quick how-to on reinstallation of my LT1 balancer. I notice there is an arrow on it, which is supposed to point where?
any tools make the job easier. my friend is probably going to want to use a block of wood and a sledge, of course this is probably not a good idea. so, let the ops. fly
thanks

Are you removing the hub with the balancer or just the balancer? Why exactly are you removing it?

Half inch longer crank bolt, thread specs above. Your not supposed to pound on the crank, a tap to tell what metal it is when its out of the car is one thing, but in the car with everything attached to it, not a good idea. Realistically I dont know how easy it would be to damage things, but rings/bearings/cylinder walls come to mind as possibilities.

I thought the balancer would only bolt to the hub one way. Anyway..if you look at the hub you will see a marker bump on one side....if you look at the damper you will see a trangular pointer (hard to describe but you will notice it)....these 2 markers should line up.

To put the hub on correctly....bring #1 to TDC and put it on with the pointer at 12 o'clock. Oil up the shaft and pull it down with the center bolt. Youll need someting to hold the hub to keep things from moving. They make a tool to do this. I keyed my hub so it wasnt a problem. DONT bang on it.
