I am needing specs off the lightweight valve spring retainer that comes in the lt4 kit. I am building a dirt track motor and i am needing lightweight retainers for it and i think these will work for me we have to run stock diameter 1.250 springs. I need the diameter of the the step downs on the retainer and the overall diameter of the retainer. Also would like to know if they take a special lock or if any 7 degree lock will work. The retainer number i am looking at is the 10212808.

The part number you listed for the retainers is correct. Here are the valve locks and spring locaters:

24503856, 10212809.

What cam are you running btw?

 

I will be running a .545 lift cam. I am wondering how this retainer will fit in a stock diameter sbc spring. I noticed the lt4 spring is 1.35 diameter, i am just concerned the retainer wont fit my springs. Also the lt4 spring is just a single spring and my stock diameter spring has a dampner in the middle of it.
