I need help

Okay, so my car was running really bad, so I bit the bullet and replaced the distributor, plugs, and wires. So, it runs smoother, but it lacks power and i stayed in the gas till it reached peak rpm, and it wouldn't shift until I let off the gas. Anyone have any suggestions. I can't afford to throw parts at this thing.

down on power could be a lot of things... do you still have the stock exhaust? If so you may want to look into your cat and see if it's not clogged, a simple check would be run it and get under and check exhaust temps before and after the cat if there is a large variances then your cat is probably clogged or partially clogged.

Re: I need help

Sounds just like my sons 95 Formula. Had a new cat installed before we purchased the car. Had no power in the upper rpm range. Took exhaust apart when installing headers and pieces of the ceramic honeycomb were lodged in the elbow just past the converter. Removed the cat and installed aftermarket pipes and muffler. Installed hot cam. Last fall at National Trails Raceway ran a 12.98 at 105. Definately made a big difference. Check those cats!

It also still runs bad now that I have driven it a little. When I take it off sometimes, it runs like it's skipping.
