Cool

Street Twin. Pay now or pay more later.

Maybe a SPEC though...I'd steal 600 more dollars though.

Street Twin is the ONLY way to go. Talk to ACA performance, they just ended a hell of a GP for them. They might still hook you up with the GP price.

I agree with everyone else. When you break that $400 clutch in a few weeks, you'll be wishing you forked over the other $400 for the street twin. At least I did.

think i'm going to end up going with a centerforce dual friction clutch. still has a lot of streetability, and it's cheaper. The rep at jegs said they can handle well over 500 hp and i'm not planning to exceed that so.... i found some here in the f/s section NIB for around 400ish

I would highly recommend against Centerforce. I had a Centerforce in my car and it did not last. Do a search and you will find alot of info on Centerforce. I would go with a Ram clutch before Centerforce.

do NOT get the centerforce DF for these cars, it grabs pretty good for mine (most of the time) but it makes a certifiable racket, AND the TB is a POS. Im on my second one (replaced for warranty) and i can spin the TB at the slightest gas pedal pressure.

For everyoen talking about the street twin, can you give me some ideas where i can find one, websites, phone numebrs and such =)

thanx in advance

Centerforce isnt a bad clutch for these cars. People are tearing up their trannies with them tho, and wearing out the clutches quickly because of the hydrolics. Like the street twin, you will need an adjustable cylinder. Without it, the clutch will just barely disengauge, hence the problems people have with them.

A buddy has the centerforce PP, lt4 disks combo, and is pulling constant 1.7 60's with 3.73 gears. That isnt easy on the clutch at all and it is holding up to the abuse.

Another thing to look out for with the street twin, is that it is a whole lotta clutch. With traction, it will not slip, not at all. This leads to other broken drivetrain parts (output shafts, drive shafts, rear ends etc)

my .02

I called SPEC yesterday and talked with a rep about the STAGE III clutch. He said it would be an excellent clutch to go with, handles up to around 700hp and is only a single disc clutch kit for $540 directly from them. He pointed out that while McLeod makes a good twin disc setup, twin discs is really not necessary b/c SPEC makes a stage V clutch which will handle over 1300hp on a single disc setup so why bother going with two discs.
anyway, i have heard good things about SPEC, (bad things also, but more good than bad), mostly bad stuff about centerforce, and only expensive stuff about McCleod. I think i'm going to hunt around here and thunderracing.com for a better price maybe even get a GP going (if there isn't one already) for SPEC.

Id say get a SPEC. I just instaled my Stage 3 ceramic last night in my 94Z M6 and WOW! What a difference over that POS dynapak that was in there. It engages very quick but its very very streetable. Grabs hard. I haven't went WOT yet because I want to break it in. I got mine for $475 on a GP. I doubt you will get another one going considering the Mcleod and SPEC ones that just finished a little while ago. If you go stage 3, get the ceramic material! Hope the helps.
