GREAT opti news! (maybe)
This might be off topic, but I think it will be best viewed here...
I emailed GMPartsdirect.com about doing a group purchase on opti-sparks they charge $230 right now....
well here's thier response:
Yes if the amount is large enough I will be glad to offer a bulk discount. Once you have enough people interested please email me again with how many you will need to purchase
NOT ONLY THAT BUT....
Maybe we can look into being a supporting vendor for your online message board as well.
So if there is some more interest I will advise gmpartsdirect to become a sponsor and we could get this thing going! Since GP's are only allowed from paying advertisers...I hope this works out.

I checked up on why the S&H is so much, that's how they make a profit to pay for the employees, website, and stuff like that (according to them). Makes sense kinda since you cant make a living sellin stuff at cost...I dunno, I'm still hopin they give us a good deal. Even if they could ship it for the same price as Jason, at least CZ28 would have another paying advertiser.

While I and I'm sure many others appreciate the effort, I'm going to have to close this one. While it would be "OK" if all things worked out just great with something like this, I doubt Chris/Jason want to start allowing "potential" advertiser threads with the dangling piece of candy on the end that if they drum up enough interest "then" they'll become a paying advertiser. This could be abused. Say for example, Joe Somebody is willing to offer Borla exhausts at cost just so he can be able to purchase enough units to become a dealer. He gets 20 people and these 20 people have his contact info. Nothing really makes him hold up his end of the deal. If I allow this one to go then I'll really have to allow the next one and the one after and I don't want to have to keep track of who might be a future advertiser and who is.

The benefits of being a paying advertiser here are far greater than being able to sell optisparks. If they think they can beat the above mentioned prices then it would be in their best interest to become a paying advertiser and advertise ALL their products and put specials out on them like the others do in the Group Purchase forum.
