I may have found the perfect spark plug tool

http://www.harborfreight.com/21-piec...set-93150.html

I tried it last night and it works great.

Their latest mailer had it for $19.95 and you can use a 20% coupon - less than $16. I have headers and it is really easy to get on and off the plug.

Jim, a lot of us have been using a shortened spark plug socket with a box or ratcheting wrench for about 12+ years now. That whole set is pretty cheap @ $20 though, and would do a good job on a spark plug or anything with a long stud sticking up.

Yes this is what I use, it cuts the replacement time in half over using regular spark plug sockets.

Kobalt makes a set of sockets and ratchets like that.

I've seen the cut down sockets and that is what made me look at this. One of the advantages of this tool is the head of the ratchet is very thin so you can get it over the top of the spark plug easier and you don't have to clear the top of the socket either.

I have skinny arms, they are much better tools when working on an LT1 than anything in my tool box

Why the negative responses?

It's a useful post on a nearly-dead site. Squelching it just pushes this place closer to the brink.
