They go very well with Tornadoes, so keep your eyes open for a group sale.

I was surprised as well. I switched back to stock and was more surprised . Maybe I can use the Gran-Maf on my Talon with a MAF-T.

Re: I just got the granatelli MAF

It doesnt just change the performance because the bigger diameter it also leans out the car. The lt1 already runs real rich and rich=worse performance. Bubba:the tornado thing is funny It seems like a lot of you just listen to the sh*t that is given out on this message board and never try some stuff first hand. My friend has the granatelli on his mustang and he dynoed before and after and had proven gains of 10rwhp. Not bad IMHO. Plus my stocker needed replaced.

You would had been better off keeping the stock MAF and sending your PCM out to be recalibrated for a leaner WOT. It would cost less, and given a bigger gain than the MAF. 15 hp.

Re: I just got the granatelli MAF

All an MAF has to do is report air flow to the pcm and not restrict air doing it the stocker is fine well into BUILT stroker territory which means with proper programming THERE ARE NO GAINS TO BE HAD FROM A MAF SWAP. If you see gains from a MAF swap you are either making FAR above 400hp or your tuning was off.

This sort of ties back to where the 112 vs. 114 thread went in the end about people asking questions but not wanting or understanding the answer.
If you are really crazy about the g-maf then I like BUBBA suggest the Tornado and maybe the $15 TB bypass kit from ebay, oh and one of the IAT resistor things how about the TPS tricker, the B&M shift plus. Anyone else have some JUNK to add to my list? How about Hypercrap and JET.

Is it that time of month??? Yes, you CAN see gains from a MAF. It IS proven unlike the tornado that u seem to want to bring up for some reason. Have you ever used the granatelli. Im guessing NO. I didnt post this to swere by it, just that i saw gains from it. Stop being a dumb**** and notice that in my post i stated that i needed a NEW MAF, but my friend with the GT did get his car dynoed and saw a 10rwhp difference. He changed the MAF at the dyno.

Bingo.
The computer will realize the a/f ratio is leaner than it should be and will adjust the long term fuel trim to compensate. Any gains will be from less of a restriction in the intake. If you want to fix it, get it programmed.

Re: I just got the granatelli MAF

You know...I am reading what people say on the internet..over and over.

People will say that the computer will learn the maf and negate the gain over a period of time. Ok, who has proven this? Who dynoed their car with a Gran MAF and then 2 months later dynoed it again with no changes to see the power back to where it was?

Sorta like someone asking "what cam should I run" and you will get GM 847, don't know why, but it is popular and that is what I have been reading about a lot lately. Does not mean it is right though...

Not a flame...an observation.

Re: I just got the granatelli MAF

If a change in the oxygen level is detected by the O2 sensors, the computer is going to adjust for it. It's as simple as that. It's a basic function of the computer.

Re: I just got the granatelli MAF

Would not the computer then adjust if one puts headers on the car? CAI? RR's?

I ran 12.20@109 on a stock tune...how? The computer should have just pulled timing like mad, pulled out all the fuel...it has to get back X parameter that is knows right?
