car runs well to have so many miles on it. gonna take it to the track soon and see how much the headers picked it up...

Wow, thats impressive, let us know what it runs at the track... Have you ever tried a leakdown test to see if its still holding compression??

 

Very nice...hard to believe its on the stock OPTI......but never say never!!!

I guess the coolant temp gauge for '93s starts out at 100 instead of 160?

 

Cool deal man. My '93 has 109,xxx miles on it - still on the factory Opti as well!

Stock opti 119,### miles. Good to hear that your car is in that good of shape.

 

Second opti at 76000 and third water pump. It's all chance.

well at at the track it has ran 8.9 @ 80 in the 1/8 with no headers, the headers should have picked it up a little bit...definitely feels like it!

last year i thought the opti was going out, it started cutting out in the higher rpm's..come to find out it was the plugs that had 80k on them and the platinum had worn down and they had between .065-.070 gap! so i guess the stock ignition was just having a problem firing that gap.

car had 100,000 when i got it. at first i wasnt really good about changing the oil at the suggested intervals...my first 3 oil changes were 3k, 11k, and 6k! after that i began doing it around 3k. oil has always been 20w50 havoline...dont know why i use that stuff, i just do. the filter is usually a fram...maybe because its one of the cheaper ones.

A pretty well known person on this board really likes the 93 style opti and thinks they last a lot longer because of the drive being the shaft instead of the pin.
I would like to see how many of those optis last compared to the new style because I'm on my third one

 

I am at 125,000 and mine cuts out above 4700rpm's once in a while......you really never know if it's going to fire or not. I hope my delteg system will cure this headache. That is hard to believe a stock opti with that many miles that doens't have a stumble or miss. You are a lucky one. Those 93's are freaky.

 

There's a girl on here (Karen Kraus) that autcrosses her '96 1LE in F-Stock. She has over 300K miles on it and it still turns I think mid 13's in the 1/4.
