I hate taylor ovc's!!!
I give up trying to install them i'm takin it to my local shop to get this done. and im having a shop checkin an oil leak b/c its leakin on my opti man i love this car when its running good but dang it never does
I got it done but I didn't enjoy doing it. I thought the whole crimping process would be a little more secure and maybe sealed with some sealant. All the adjustment of the wires and looms kind of sucked too. But it was worth it.
they arent that bad after you get a few of them done. i have cut 3 sets now and its 10x easier than say changing plugs IMO. with the taylors i am guessing your troubles come when you put the boots over the wires am i right? theres a couple ways to fix this problem.
1. put the wire thru the boot first and then crimp on the hardware.
2. use some silicone or WD-40 on the wires and boots so they slip on easier. i crimpled them first and them put the boots on using silcone spray and it worked great for me every time.

that WD-40 works only when it is still wet but it dries rather quick. Silicone grease or vasalean (how ever its spelled) would probably work a little better for sliding the boots on. I put the boots on first then did my crimping then pulled the boot down over the end. Routing the wires around the oil fill cap is what pissed me off. Now its hard as heck to get the fill cap off.
well for me id pull it down over the boot rather easy then id crimp it then when id go to slide it down my crimp would come off. O man it made me mad then id finally get it right and the crimp wouldnt be centered and i had it pushed to far back so i couldnt get it on the opti. I'm just hopin this fixes my stumblin problem if not this guy said its prolly the oil leakin on my opti any of u have that problem?
I had a hell of a time putting those things on, getting the wires through the boot before you crimp everything down was a PITA, then once they were on the car, the passenger side wires were too close to the pulleys so they got completely thrashed.
80 bucks or how ever much they cost was down the drain...

I love mine. Crimping them was so easy but definitely put the boot on first or they arent going on and you'll have to order more opti ends because you messed yours up trying to undo them to get the crimp to get the boot on like I did. I used silicone spray like a few people suggested and it was very easy. Wire routing on the driver's side is cake, but the passanger side sucked. I took off the tensioner for more room, wedged some convulted tubing around each wire so they dont touch hot metal, and they not only look awesome but work great.

I actually kinda enjoyed doing my Taylor OVC wires. It was a bit time consuming but definately not the worst thing I have ever done on my car. I have the side mount looms too. My crimps stayed put for me. I used a silicone spray & a piece of sandpaper for grip when pushing the wires through the boots....
I used MSD 8.5 superconductors and ran them carefully and have no problems. No burnt wires, they look great and running fine.
Are Hooker LTs just better at not burning wires? or is it my superior routing job?
I hate building my own wires so I am glad these MSDs worked out.

I agree the OVC wires were a pain, but I'm glad i fought through it. I'm not real confident in my crimped ends but so far so good. One of these days I will do them again and i think the second time will be 100 times easier.
