How does the car's PCM act? Will it let the scanner read codes? If the opti is good, I would guess that is your problem. Key word is guess. If EVERYTHING ignition checks out ok, that and your injectors (again, not likely) are about all that's left that could cause what you describe.

Or maybe you have a bare wire/short someplace?

Good luck with it.

Thumbs up

Check for burned wires lt1s are known for this problem when you have headers installed, also did you check your opti spark a dealer to scan it. I Hope this works for you.

Wires...

Maybe your wires are arcing across one another, causing a misfire. How are they routed and what kind are they? I would get a second set of eyes to check them out. Check the coil wire too, just to make sure it and the coil post look OK.

Keep working on it, you'll find it.

did you check in the dark to see if you got arching? also are your injectors hooked up to the right harness clip for the injector?

You've replaced the coil right? $30 could solve all your frustrations if not.

$50

Dude,

Buy a set of accel wires from advance or autozone, put them on and send me a money order.

Also unplug the battery while you're replacing the wires, that way the PCM will reset those BLM's from trying to make the car run well with those old wires.

Also, don't replace the wires without putting another $10 on some Autolite 106 plugs. And please, get all 8 of them and don't try to replace only the bad ones.

Cool

Sometimes this happens==The plug wires on the pass side will rub against the pulleys, causing them to ware through the wires, causing shorts.My02

This is what happened to me once. Too much pulley rubbing action.

wires

I am positive I have heard of people having problems with Taylor wire sets when they aren't routed just right...check in to that would be my guess.

Have you taken it to a shop recently? You said you have Taylor wires and AC plugs and an MSD coil. But you didn't know how they were routed. Did you have a shop do this work for you? If so, was this problem going on before these items were replaced?

TAYLOR wires

I bought some of this junk once.

If you look at some of my previous threads, you'll see the nightmares that I had with Taylor wires. Never again. I've never in my life had another brand of wires to where the fire would arch through the insulation in the MIDDLE of a wire to the block.

I promise, MY OATH: I will never buy another set of Taylor wires.

Anyway, some people have had good luck with these wires. Have them checked out and hopefully you'll get this figured out.
