I got some problems.....please help
Go
I took my car to auto zone today and got the SES light checked out. It gave a p153 which is the bank 2, sensor 1, O2 sensor. He said it was like a 60 dollar part and i could replace it myself. He then started my car and listened to it and he said i had a missfire. He opened my hood and said it was missing real badly and i need a tune up really bad. The car is a 97 Z28 and i just bought it a week ago and have yet to do the mods in my sig although i have the parts. He told me its an all day job to replace the spark plugs and wires
I also have noticed that my car bogs down sometimes and when i give it gas it doesnt wanna go. Could this be my misfire? How much power do you think im losing? How much would it cost to have my stuff changed at a shop? Do any of you think that anything else could be wrong with my car? Should i park my car until i fix these things? PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks

Man those spark plugs are a pain in the ***. I did my tune up when I did my headers, it helped a whole lot because I didn't have the stock manifolds in the way to work around.
I don't know how much you know about doing headers or whatever, but the easiest thing to do would be to do it at the same time. I've had a shop quote me over 600 dollars for a plug and wire change and parts. If you can do the headers go ahead, pull the manifolds off, do a tune up like that, then put the headers on. Put the new oxygen sensor(s) on at the same time too, since they have to come off anyway.
If you pay someone to do the tune up, then your gonna be out some money. If I can help out anymore just let me know.

I would definately do it yourself-you will save a ton of money that can be put into cool stuff instead of your mechanics pocket .
As FastZ said, it's much easier to do plug/wires with the manifolds out, so do it all at once, since that misfire is definately your problem. The hardest part will be getting out the stock manifolds, but I'd leave at least a weekend to get it all done.
A lot of people have done their own stuff here, so there's plenty of tech advice floating around on these pages, just look it up!
Best of luck to ya.
