I got bad news...........
I got bad news...........
My B&M 2400 took a dump on me Sunday. It's at my friend's shop and hopefully he'll be able to look at it today. I'm praying the TC didn't take the tranny with it too. My point is even though I shaved .4 off my 1/4 you get what you pay for. I should've saved a little more money for a nicer product. I have three questions. One, are B&M products remanufactured and two which brand of TC's do you guys recommend? Lastly, if the tranny is shot should I buy a brand new setup or have it rebuilt? The reason I ask this is because I don't know any reputable shops in my area who work on transmissions. Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice holiday.
P.S. I posted this thread in the drivetrain forum yesterday without any replys so I thought I might try my luck here.

I've had a B+? and an S-- go on me. Two tranny rebuilds to go along with each. Got my money back on each converter, so Summit and S-- get high grades for that. No charge on the tranny rebuild when the B+? went. The builder was also cool on that.
Buy a Vigilante and have a first rate place build and warranty the tranny (even when they know you are going to get on it)
Auto trannys are complex. Doesn't take much for an inexperienced or even an experienced builder to F--- it up.
Good luck.

Also in the chevy hi-performance magazine, there is a great article around putting in one of there tranny's
I was highly impressed with their comparison to other very popular convertors also.

Midwest converters, mine is built like a tank and only cost $455 shipped. www.raceconverters.com
I've seen a few guys complain about the B&M converters. My friend had one that lasted 4 days!!
I have a TCS unit. (Not TCI)
Neal Racing is also crap.
If you have the $$ I would check out a Precision Industries converter.
