That seems so darn obvious and makes perfect sense when you say it, i don't even know why i was thinking about R5.6.

I'm installing my harlan shiftlight now and just came in to double check how many extra wires to run through the dash. This also seems obvious but i guess i should double check and ask since i didn't even read that circut correctly earlier. just 1 for the buzzer, 1 for the LED, and 1 for my manual switch for a total of three right? Nobody answer that if i am wrong, it'll be too late anyways

I never heard another word from him about the kits. I've been running mine without any warning light. I pay such close attention to my gauges anyways. Plus, i'd definitly notice a drop in power from warming up

Try PMing him.
The hard part is finding that .05 ohm resistor.
I built this circuit and it seems to work fine so far.

The reason the kits never took off is a basic lack of interest. I had some circuit cards made and bought some other stuff but it didn't look like there was any real interest. I made a few kits for folks but I was only making about $20 a kit and it took a couple of hours each to assemble so I really didn’t pursue it.

If you need help building the circuit or if you want a circuit fabricated I should be able to help you out.

I would be intersted in making a circuit myself..but then again I would need specific instructions. Are there any instructions laying around? If its too complicated then I would rather buy one outright.

The only instructions are on my linked web page under current monitoring circuit.

If you are not really sure how to assemble the circuit I have fabricated some small printed circuit boards for this application. I also have all of the parts less the shunt resistors. I could assemble a circuit card and test it for you for $15 + shipping. The shunt resistor and LED will cost another $5-$6 from an electronics supply store (not Radio Shack).
