Unhappy I did something bad tonight. Car making terriable noise.

Tonight a friend and I took my Camaro over to the detail center where he works and buffed it all up. We got done with it and as I'm starting the car to pull it out of the garage, I overstarted it and it made that awftle noise. (Like metal on metal)

When I pulled out, the car is rattling like crazy. It sounds like the exhaust, but it's not. It's comming from underneith the car but does not get louder or faster under any throttle, so I'm happy that it dosen't seem motor oriented. It now turns over much slower.

But anyways I've got a perfectly buffed out Z-28 with a nasty rattle because I was careless.

The fact that it did that after an over cranked start is pretty doubtful. I dont think that has much to do with it... lots of people over crank their cars...

Sounds like the starter was grinding and you broke off a couple of teeth. They're now bouncing around inside the TC cover. Pull off the cover and have a look. Hopefully, it's teeth off the starter and not the flexplate.
